On Monday, February 9, 2026, the School of Science, University of Phayao, led by its management team and researchers, visited the Creative Industry Materials Research and Development Center in Lampang Province to proactively establish collaboration. The aim is to elevate research to commercial innovation and create an Experiential Learning ecosystem for students.
Associate Professor Dr. Sitthisak Pinmongkhonkul, Dean of the School of Science, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Reungruthai Sirirak, Voice-Dean for Research and Innovation, led a team of expert lecturers from the Chemistry and Biology departments. This team included Assistant Professor Dr. Naruemon Setthaya, Dr. Nathaporn Phutthawong, Dr. Pakvipar Chaopanich, Dr. Chakkresit Chindawong (from Chemistry), and Assistant Professor Dr. Phalinjaree Rangsayatorn (from Biology), who collectively discussed approaches to developing collaborative research with industry partners.
The primary objective of this visit was to exchange knowledge with the Creative Industry Materials Research and Development Center in Lampang Province, which serves as a national hub of expertise in material science and production processes. The focus is on transforming "shelf-sitting" research into innovations that can truly meet market demands, through a Co-Creation process that uses problems from the industrial sector as the starting point for research work.
Beyond research collaboration, the School of Science also emphasizes the development of a "Learning Ecosystem." During the meeting, an Internship Roadmap was jointly planned for students in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, to prepare them for practical training in real-world settings. Experts from the research center will serve as mentors, providing close guidance to develop skills that directly match (Skills Mapping) the future needs of the industry.
