On 26 May 2026, the School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, organized the Strategic Plan Review and Revision Project for Fiscal Year 2026 at Riva Vista Riverfront Resort, Chiang Rai Province. The initiative aimed to refine the school’s strategic direction in response to the rapidly evolving digital landscape while strengthening organizational readiness through the effective integration of data, technology, and innovation. The project reflects the school’s commitment to academic excellence, institutional resilience, and sustainable development.
During the event, Assistant Professor Dr. Thanyathip Khruhayothin, Dean of the School of Business and Communication Arts, delivered a keynote presentation entitled “From Vision to Impact: Driving Faculty Excellence through AI for a Sustainable Future.” The presentation outlined the school’s vision, strategic priorities, development policies, and operational plans, ensuring that personnel at all levels shared a common understanding of the school’s future direction. Particular emphasis was placed on the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing operational efficiency, supporting evidence-based decision-making, and strengthening educational quality in an increasingly digital environment.
The program continued with a workshop entitled “Data-Driven BCA: Advancing Organizational Development through a Systematic Data Center.” The school was honored to welcome Assistant Professor Dr. Noppadol Maneethian, Director of the College of Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, and Assistant Professor Dr. Thanathip Jankhong from the Faculty of Engineering, Chiang Mai University, as distinguished guest speakers. They shared valuable perspectives and best practices on institutional data management, data center development, and the creation of integrated data ecosystems capable of supporting administration, educational quality assurance, and strategic planning.
In the afternoon session, participants took part in the collaborative workshop “Brainstorming: Data-Driven BCA,” which encouraged broad participation in shaping the school’s future development. Academic staff were grouped by academic programs to identify key datasets required for curriculum development and quality enhancement in alignment with the AUN-QA framework. Meanwhile, support staff worked in functional groups to design approaches for developing a comprehensive Data Catalog and a centralized data architecture for the school. Each group subsequently presented its recommendations, generating practical and innovative ideas that can be translated into actionable institutional initiatives.
A key outcome of the project was the establishment of a shared understanding of the school’s long-term strategic direction and the identification of critical data requirements necessary for systematic management and continuous quality improvement. The initiative also laid a strong foundation for transforming the Faculty into a Data-Driven Organization, where reliable data serves as a strategic asset for informed decision-making, operational enhancement, and service excellence. Such an approach is expected to improve organizational efficiency, reduce process redundancies, and enhance the quality of services provided to students, personnel, and stakeholders.
Furthermore, the project demonstrates the school’s commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It contributes directly to SDG 4 by strengthening data systems that support curriculum improvement, quality assurance, and enhanced learning outcomes. The initiative also aligns with SDG 9 through the adoption of digital technologies and data-driven innovation in organizational management. In addition, it supports SDG 16 by promoting transparent, accountable, and evidence-based governance practices. Collaboration with external experts and partner institutions further advances SDG 17 fostering knowledge exchange and strategic cooperation for sustainable institutional development.
Guided by the principle of “From Vision to Impact,” the School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, remains committed to proactively embracing the opportunities and challenges of the digital era. By leveraging data, technology, innovation, and the collective expertise of its personnel, the school continues to strengthen its capacity for excellence, create meaningful educational impact, and contribute to sustainable development for future generations.
