School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao Faculty Member Invited as Guest Speaker to Enhance Students’ Entrepreneurial Competencies

On 5 August 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Napapa Suwannarong, a lecturer in the Bachelor of Communication Arts Program in New Media Communication, School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, was invited to serve as a guest speaker at the Entrepreneurial Capacity Building Training Program for Students. The program was held at Kasalong Conference Room, 8th Floor, Maha Vajiralongkorn Building, Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University (Talay Kaew Campus), and was organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Local Development, Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University. The initiative aimed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for future careers and entrepreneurship by integrating entrepreneurial concepts into teaching and learning.

The training featured two lecture sessions entitled “Communicating Community Context through Storytelling” and “Developing Business Models with the Business Model Canvas.” The sessions focused on strengthening participants’ communication skills, enhancing their ability to analyze community contexts, and developing business concepts that systematically build upon local resources and community identities. Participants gained practical knowledge of storytelling techniques to effectively communicate the unique values and strengths of communities to target audiences. They were also introduced to the Business Model Canvas as a strategic tool for designing and evaluating business models, including value propositions, customer segments, distribution channels, customer relationships, key resources, key activities, strategic partnerships, and cost structures, enabling them to transform business ideas into practical and viable entrepreneurial initiatives.

The program was designed to enhance students’ entrepreneurial knowledge, understanding, and essential competencies while encouraging them to apply creative thinking alongside business opportunity analysis grounded in community contexts. These approaches provide a strong foundation for developing products, services, and entrepreneurial ventures that respond effectively to the evolving needs of society and the marketplace. Furthermore, the training promoted experiential learning by bridging theoretical knowledge from the Social Entrepreneurship course with practical application in real-world contexts.

This initiative also reflects the strong academic collaboration between higher education institutions in promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise in entrepreneurship education. Through such collaborative efforts, students are empowered with competencies aligned with contemporary social and economic changes and are encouraged to apply their knowledge in developing businesses and social enterprises that create sustainable value for communities and local development.
