On 16 September 2026, personnel from the School of Energy and Environment, University of Phayao, led by Associate Professor Dr. Torpong Kreetachat, Project Leader, and the research team, participated in the Knowledge Exchange and Lessons-Learned Forum under the Areas Engagement Mobility (AEM) Programme for Fiscal Year 2026. The event was held at the Serenity Grand Ballroom, 3rd Floor, Century Park Hotel, Bangkok.
During the event, the research team showcased achievements and community products resulting from the AEM project. They also participated in knowledge-sharing and lessons-learned activities with networks of higher education institutions. These activities provided a platform for exchanging knowledge, experience, and practical approaches to applying research, technology, and innovation to address local challenges and achieve tangible area-based development outcomes.
On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Torpong Kreetachat and the research team received the “AEM AWARDS 2569 AAA Level” for their project entitled “Community Livelihood Promotion through the Enhancement of Agricultural Production and Processing Using Environmentally Friendly Technologies in Ban Mai Subdistrict, Phayao Province.” The team also attended the award ceremony, where they received a commemorative plaque and certificate of recognition.
The project was implemented under the Areas Engagement Mobility (AEM) Programme, supported by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI). The programme aims to mobilise the knowledge and expertise of personnel from higher education institutions to work collaboratively with local communities in addressing challenges and advancing area-based development.
The activities implemented in Ban Mai Subdistrict, Phayao Province, focused on promoting community livelihoods and enhancing agricultural production and processing through the application of environmentally friendly technologies. The project sought to improve production efficiency, increase the value of agricultural products, reduce environmental impacts, and create opportunities for local communities to generate additional income.
The project’s technological and innovative initiatives also received financial support from the Industrial Technology Assistance Program (ITAP) of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). This support strengthened the mechanisms for adapting and applying knowledge and technology to suit the local context. It also contributed to the development of products and production processes capable of generating economic value while promoting environmental sustainability.
Receiving the “AEM AWARDS 2569” reflects the success of integrating research, technology, innovation, and academic services to support area-based development. It also highlights the effective collaboration among the university, supporting organisations, and local communities in translating knowledge into practical applications and delivering tangible benefits to the community.
