UP Advances Inter-professional Education to Strengthen Community Well-being and Sustainable Health Development

UP Advances Inter-professional Education to Strengthen Community Well-being and Sustainable Health Development

On 16 February 2026, the University of Phayao organized an award presentation ceremony for student projects under the Inter-professional Education (IPE) framework, presided over by Associate Professor Supakorn Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao. The initiative recognized outstanding community-based projects developed by students from the School of Public Health through interdisciplinary collaboration and practical engagement with local communities.

The IPE program is a core mechanism of the University’s UP Flagship: Societal Well-being, implemented under the Samritthisuk Wellness & Hospitality program. It aims to integrate academic learning with professional practice and community partnership in order to strengthen population health, enhance health literacy, and improve quality of life, particularly in the context of an ageing society.

Through collaboration with local governments and community networks, students applied interdisciplinary knowledge to design health innovations addressing real-world challenges. The program promotes systems thinking, teamwork across health disciplines, and civic responsibility, contributing to the development of a skilled and socially responsive health workforce.

This initiative demonstrates the University of Phayao’s policy-oriented approach to higher education, integrating teaching, research, and societal engagement to support sustainable community health systems. The IPE model aligns with national priorities and global agendas for sustainable development, positioning the University as a strategic partner for international collaboration in education, health, and community well-being.
