On April 20, 2026, the School of Education, led by Associate Professor Dr. Raksit Suttipong, Dean of the School of Education, together with administrators, faculty members, and supporting staff, participated in the traditional water-pouring ceremony to pay respect to the President and senior members on the occasion of the University of Phayao Songkran Festival, Year 2026. The ceremony was held at Phaya Ngam Muang Auditorium, University of Phayao. Participants performed the ritual bathing of the Buddha image, Phra Phuttha Phuchakarak, and the statue of King Naresuan the Great for auspiciousness. They also expressed their respects, sought forgiveness, and received blessings from Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongsbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, and respected senior members.
Furthermore, the event also featured a variety of activities, including a traditional Larb Muang (Northern-style minced meat salad) cooking competition and a cultural parade contest showcasing ceremonial offerings for the Songkran Festival. These activities provided opportunities for personnel from all departments to participate creatively. On this occasion, the School of Education also hosted a booth serving stir-fried noodles (Pad Mee) for participants attending the event. The project was organized by the Lanna Arts and Culture Center, University of Phayao, with the objective of promoting the preservation of arts and cultural heritage, as well as conserving and continuing Thailand’s valued traditions. It also aimed to strengthen unity and organizational cohesion, which serve as vital forces in driving the sustainable promotion of arts, culture, and Thai identity. This initiative is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
