School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Phayao, in collaboration with both internal and external partner organizations, organized a community-based initiative aimed at enhancing the quality of life among older adults through precision nutrition therapy integrating oral health information and medical laboratory findings. The project was conducted under the “Suk Samrit Center” Project at Mae Sai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Phayao Province. The initiative sought to promote proactive and integrated healthcare for the elderly by applying knowledge in health sciences, medical technology, and individualized health data to develop accurate and personalized nutritional interventions tailored to each participant.
The School of Allied Health Sciences spearheaded this academic service project entitled “Enhancing Elderly Care through Precision Nutrition Therapy Integrating Oral Health Data and Medical Laboratory Findings” with collaborative support from several faculties within the University of Phayao, namely the School of Allied Health Sciences, the School of Dentistry, and the School of Medical Sciences. The project was held on Friday, 1 May 2026, from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Mae Sai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Mueang District, Phayao Province, with the shared objective of sustainably improving the quality of life and well-being of older adults within the local community.
The opening ceremony was graciously presided over by Mr. Santi Sarareo, Chief Executive of the Mae Sai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, who delivered welcoming remarks to the project team and participants. The event was further honored by the presence of executives from the three participating faculties, who jointly expressed their commitment to advancing holistic elderly healthcare. These included Professor Patcharawan Srisilapanan, Dean of the School of Dentistry; Asst. Prof. Dr. Surisak Prasarnpun, Dean of the School of Medical Sciences; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Puttipong Poncumhak, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences.
Activities conducted throughout the project included educational sessions on nutrition therapy, oral health examinations, body composition analysis, assessments of chewing capability among older adults, and comprehensive medical laboratory investigations. These laboratory assessments included screening for hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, liver and kidney function, as well as acute inflammatory conditions. The collected data will serve as a fundamental basis for designing effective and individualized nutritional care plans for elderly participants.
This initiative reflects the continued commitment of the School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Phayao, to integrating academic knowledge, research, and community engagement in support of a high-quality aging society. Furthermore, the project reinforces the University’s mission to sustainably enhance the health and well-being of local communities and the broader public.
