BCA, University of Phayao, Contributes to the Formulation of Phayao Province’s 20-Year Development Strategy

The School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, participated as focus group facilitators and resource persons in the Workshop on the Formulation of Phayao Province’s 20-Year Development Vision (2023–2042) and the Phayao Provincial Development Plan (2028–2032). The workshop, organized by the Phayao Provincial Office, was held on 10 July 2026 at the Benjarong Conference Hall, Phayao Gateway Hotel, Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province.

The workshop brought together representatives from government agencies, public organizations, civil society, academia, and the private sector to collaboratively establish a long-term strategic direction for the sustainable development of Phayao Province.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Ms. Orapa Lohwira, Governor of Phayao Province, who officially inaugurated the workshop and presented the provincial development policy. The event also featured a keynote lecture entitled “Review of the 20-Year Vision and the Phayao Provincial Development Plan (2023–2027)” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Santiwat Phitakphon, Director of the Institute of Innovation and Technology Transfer, University of Phayao. His presentation examined the province’s current development context, global megatrends and their driving forces, and strategic perspectives from multiple sectors.

The School of Business and Communication Arts was honored to serve as facilitators for the thematic focus group discussions. The University’s academic representatives included Asst. Prof. Dr. Tanyatip Kharuhayothin, Dean of the School of Business and Communication Arts, and Mr. Kamolphong Rattanasanguanwong, Associate Dean for Student Experience and Quality Development, who facilitated the Tourism focus group. In addition, Asst. Prof. Dr. Bang-on Sawatsuk, Lecturer in the Bachelor of Accountancy Program, served as facilitator for the Trade and Investment focus group.

During the workshop, the facilitation team guided participants through a comprehensive SWOT analysis, strategic positioning, and the development of strategic goals, key performance indicators (KPIs), target outcomes, and development strategies across key sectors. These included agriculture, tourism, trade and investment, quality of life and public security, as well as natural resources and environmental management.

The workshop provided an important collaborative platform for integrating multidisciplinary expertise and stakeholder perspectives in formulating a shared strategic framework. The outcomes will contribute to establishing a practical and sustainable foundation for the long-term development of Phayao Province over the next two decades.
