Research and Academic Service Center of Engineering (RACE), School of Engineering, University of Phayao, earned the Silver Award at the “Learning Space for SDGs 2025 Pitching Competition”, held on 18 September 2025. The event, organized by the Division of Research Administration, University of Phayao, took place at the Phayao City Conference Room (ICT 1247), Information and Communication Technology Building. Under the theme “Learning Space for SDGs”, the competition aimed to promote the creation and development of learning environments that generate tangible positive impacts on communities, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—a flagship initiative of the University.
The awarded learning space, “Engineering Technology Learning Center for Industrial Design and Manufacturing”, located at the Industrial Engineering Laboratory Building, focuses on upskilling, reskilling, and new-skilling (Up-Re-New Skill) in industrial design and manufacturing. It provides training to enhance workforce competencies in response to technological changes and to strengthen competitiveness in the industrial sector. The programs target diverse groups of participants, including government officials, private-sector professionals, engineers, technicians, students, entrepreneurs, and other interested individuals. All training courses are standardized and accredited by the Council of Engineers (the central regulatory body) and the Department of Skill Development.
This year, a total of 18 learning spaces competed for the award. The Research and Academic Service Center for Engineering (RACE), School of Engineering, University of Phayao, was honored with the Silver Award, in recognition of its outstanding performance, effective management capacity, and its ability to create transformative impacts while contributing to sustainable development.
