School of Engineering, University of Phayao, hosted the “Undergraduate Engineering Project Competition (Project Day)” for the academic year 2025 on 19 September 2025 at the School of Engineering Building. The event served as a platform for fourth-year students from four disciplines—Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering—to present their senior projects, which demonstrated the integration of knowledge, creativity, and engineering expertise in generating value for society and the environment.
The competition was divided into three main categories, with the following projects receiving the first prizes:
Community Change Agent
• Automated Fertilizer Injection System to Enhance Community-Based Spirulina Production Towards Cost-Effective and Sustainable Agriculture
UI Green
• Prototype Development of Sustainable Industrial Waste Management to Support Green University Initiatives: A CNC Case Study at the Industrial Engineering Laboratory, School of Engineering, University of Phayao
General
• Development of a Monitoring and Performance Evaluation System for Industrial Chillers
The judging panel, composed of program chairs and School representatives, evaluated the projects based on creativity, academic rigor, and potential for practical application.
Project Day represents an important component of advancing teaching and learning through the Constructive Alignment approach, which emphasizes the development of students’ knowledge, skills, and attributes to prepare them for professional engineering careers. Moreover, the event served as an inspiring platform that provided both participants and junior students with valuable experiences and motivation for future innovation.
