The Student Affairs Unit, in collaboration with the Engineering Student Club, the Engineering Music Club, and Engineering Photo UP of School of Engineering University of Phayao, organized the Freshy Engineer 2026 Project under the theme “First Gear of Engineering” The program was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Nattithanon Pongpanich, Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Industrial Collaboration, and took place on 13–14 June 2026 at the EN 1–4 Building Complex and the School of Engineering parking area.
The project was designed to foster positive relationships between first-year students and their senior peers while cultivating a strong sense of belonging, pride, and identity as members of the engineering community. Through a series of creative and engaging activities, participants were encouraged to develop teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as adapt successfully to university life.
A wide range of activities was carefully designed to provide both enjoyment and meaningful learning experiences for incoming students. Engineering knowledge and problem-solving concepts were integrated into various activity stations, allowing participants to explore fundamental engineering principles in an interactive and enjoyable environment. These educational activities were complemented by recreational sessions, motivational cheering activities, and performances by senior students, all of which reflected the spirit of unity, camaraderie, and the organizational culture of the School of Engineering.
A special highlight of the event was a live concert presented by the Engineering Music Club, which attracted enthusiastic participation from students throughout the program. School executives and staff members also joined the stage to perform alongside students, creating a warm, friendly, and memorable atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and smiles. This unique interaction exemplified the close and supportive relationships among School members, staff, and students, reinforcing the School’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant learning community and promoting the holistic development of its students.
The “First Gear of Engineering” program represents one of the School’s key initiatives to support student engagement and transition into higher education, laying a strong foundation for academic success, personal growth, and lifelong connections within the engineering profession.
