On Sunday, 12 July 2026, the Academic Affairs Unit of the School of Energy and Environment (SEEN), University of Phayao, organized a Basic First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Training Program as part of the Occupational Safety and Basic First Aid Training Project under the School's Fiscal Year 2026 Action Plan. The program was attended by 150 second- and third-year undergraduate students.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Wanawan Pragot, Assistant Dean, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Supreeda Homklin, Mr. Chaiwat Photong, and SEEN staff, who coordinated and facilitated the training throughout the program.
The training covered essential topics, including emerging infectious diseases and preventive measures, assessment and initial care for ill or injured persons, basic first aid, and Basic Life Support (BLS). The sessions were delivered by a team of qualified instructors and emergency medical experts from Phayao Province, who provided both theoretical knowledge and practical guidance. The program emphasized safety awareness, accident prevention, and the development of effective decision-making skills during emergencies, enabling students to provide appropriate, safe, and timely assistance before professional medical personnel arrive.
Beyond enhancing technical knowledge, the program also strengthened students' critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills—essential competencies for 21st-century graduates. These practical skills will benefit students throughout their academic studies, laboratory and field training, internships, and future careers in engineering and environmental professions.
The training reflects the School of Energy and Environment's commitment to producing graduates who combine academic excellence with social responsibility, public-mindedness, and the ability to respond confidently and effectively to emergency situations, contributing to a safer learning environment and a more resilient society.
