RACE Advances the Development of Level 2 CAD Assessors Supporting Advanced Manufacturing Technologies in Alignment with International Standards

The Research and Academic Services Centre for Engineering (RACE), School of Engineering, University of Phayao, in collaboration with the Phayao Provincial Skill Development Office, conducted the Training Programme to Enhance the Effectiveness of National Occupational Skill Standard Testing in the Machinery and Manufacturing Sector: Level 2 Computer-Aided Mechanical Drafting (CAD), School of Engineering, University of Phayao, Fiscal Year 2026. The programme was held from 3–5 August 2026 at the School Meeting Room EN1104 and Computer Laboratory EN1301.

Mr Rittidej Phromdam and Mr Thapakon Maruekhathat served as lecturers and practical-training instructors. The programme was designed to strengthen participants’ advanced knowledge and practical competencies in computer-aided mechanical drafting, while preparing them to administer occupational skill-standard assessments effectively and in accordance with prescribed requirements.

This initiative forms part of the mission of the University of Phayao Occupational Skill Standard Testing Centre. The School of Engineering has continuously delivered National Occupational Skill Standard testing in the Machinery and Manufacturing Sector, specifically in Level 1 Computer-Aided Mechanical Drafting (CAD). These activities provide students and members of the public with opportunities to develop professional skills and enhance their competencies in line with labour-market demands. The initiative also supports the School of Engineering’s vision: “A Centre of Engineering Learning for Industry and Communities.”

Furthermore, the programme reflects the role of the Research and Academic Services Centre for Engineering (RACE), School of Engineering, University of Phayao, in integrating education, academic services, workforce-skills development, and collaboration with government agencies. Through these efforts, RACE supports the development of a workforce whose competencies are responsive to technological change, while contributing to the sustained advancement of Thai occupational skill standards to meet industrial needs and strengthen international competitiveness.
