Between 24–25 July 2026, Mr.Chaiyathad Phutthadet, Lecturer in the Bachelor of Business Administration Program in Finance and Investment, School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, was invited to serve as a speaker at the Regional Bus Transport Operator Development and Promotion Project, Fiscal Year 2026, held at the Phrae Provincial Land Transport Office. The project was organized by the Phrae Provincial Land Transport Office under the supervision of the Department of Land Transport. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Piya Yoma, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Land Transport, who also delivered the opening remarks and welcomed all participants.
The project featured academic presentations, knowledge-sharing sessions, and panel discussions aimed at exchanging ideas on the development of regional bus route networks, enhancing the quality of public bus services, and strengthening collaboration among relevant organizations. The discussions focused on improving the accessibility, safety, efficiency, and responsiveness of public transportation services to meet the needs and contexts of local communities.
On this occasion, Mr.Chaiyathad Phutthadet participated as a panel speaker on the topic “The Role of Local Administrative Organizations in Developing Public Transportation Systems for the Public.” He joined distinguished experts, including Associate Professor Dr. Pavinee Iamtarakul, Lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Architecture and Planning, Thammasat University, and Assistant Professor Dr. Damrong Amoradechapol, Director of the Automotive and Transportation Technology Center, Faculty of Engineering, University of Phayao. The discussion was moderated by Ms. Parichaya Saraphon, Transport Technical Officer.
The panel discussion emphasized the role of local administrative organizations in supporting the development of public transportation systems, fostering collaboration among government agencies, educational institutions, and transport operators, and improving regional transport networks to better address public needs and local development contexts. The discussion also highlighted strategies to enhance service quality, expand public access to transportation, and promote the sustainable development of efficient public transport systems.
The project brought together representatives from the Department of Land Transport, the Provincial Land Transport Offices of Phrae, Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit, and Lampang, local administrative organizations, and regional transport operators. The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and networking among stakeholders, contributing to stronger interagency cooperation and supporting the continued development of high-quality, safe, efficient, and accessible public transportation services throughout the region. These collaborative efforts are expected to enhance the quality of life of local residents while promoting sustainable regional economic development.
