On 19 July 2026, the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering University of Phayao, organized the Mechanical Engineering Academic Sports Event at the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory Building. The event was designed to promote experiential learning through hands-on activities while strengthening relationships among undergraduate students from all year levels. It provided a collaborative environment that encouraged teamwork, mutual support, and the exchange of knowledge and experiences between senior and junior students.
The event emphasized the integration of mechanical engineering principles with creative, competition-based learning activities. Participants applied core engineering concepts, including Thermodynamics and Engineering Mechanics, through a series of challenge-based activities specifically designed to enhance analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork. The competitions included Thermo Fun Challenge, Balance Toss, and Truss Master, each demonstrating the practical application of engineering theories in an engaging, interactive, and intellectually stimulating format.
Beyond strengthening academic knowledge and technical competencies, the event also contributed to the development of students' interpersonal and social competencies. Participants enhanced essential transferable skills such as communication, collaboration, leadership, responsibility, and sportsmanship. The activities encouraged students to appreciate the values of fair play, learn to accept both victory and defeat with dignity, demonstrate mutual respect and forgiveness, and build meaningful relationships across different year levels. Moreover, the event provided a positive and enjoyable learning environment that complemented classroom instruction while fostering a strong sense of belonging within the Mechanical Engineering community.
