On September 6, 2023, the Environmental Testing Laboratory Center (ETLC), School of Energy and Environment, University of Phayao, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Supreeda Homklin, who heads ETLC, collaborated with a team of scientists to offer training focused on instructing individuals on the preparation and analysis of the heat energy value of fuel briquettes made from waste materials. This training involved the use of a bomb calorimeter and was part of a research project titled "Investigating the Efficiency of Materials for Producing Fuel Pellets as a Means to Reduce Agricultural Waste, such as Corn Cobs and Coffee Grounds, and Mitigate Potential Smog Issues." The project was carried out by students from Wang Nuea Wittaya School, with acknowledged a positive and enthusiastic response from all the participants involved.
Such collaborative efforts, ETLC and secondary schools can inspire young students to trace of study and careers in science and environmental while making meaningful contributions to local communities as well.
วันที่ 6 กันยายนพ.ศ 2566 หน่วยปฏิบัติการทดสอบทางสิ่งแวดล้อม คณะพลังงานและสิ่งแวดล้อม มหาวิทยาลัยพะเยา โดยมี ผศ. ดร.สุปรีดา หอมกลิ่น หัวหน้าหน่วยฯ พร้อมด้วยทีมนักวิทยาศาสตร์ จัดอบรมให้ความรู้ในการเตรียมตัวอย่าง และการวิเคราะห์ค่าพลังงานความร้อนของเชื้อเพลิงอัดแท่งจากวัสดุเหลือใช้ ด้วยเครื่อง Bomb calorimeter ซึ่งเชื้อเพลิงอัดแท่งดังกล่าวฯ ผลิตจากโครงงานวิจัยในหัวข้อเรื่อง “การศึกษาประสิทธิภาพของวัสดุที่สามารถนำมาผลิตเชื้อเพลิงอัดแท่งเพื่อลดวัสดุที่เหลือใช้จากการเกษตร เช่น ซังข้าวโพด และกากกาแฟ เพื่อลดปัญหาการเผาทิ้งที่อาจทำให้เกิดปัญหาหมอกควัน” ของนักเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษา โรงเรียนวังเหนือวิทยา โดยได้รับความสนใจจากผู้เข้าร่วมเป็นอย่างดี
หน่วย ETLC คณะพลังงานฯ มีความพยายามในการทำงานร่วมกันกับโรงเรียนระดับมัธยมศึกษา เพื่อการสามารถสร้างแรงบันดาลใจให้กับนักเรียนรุ่นเยาว์ได้เห็นภาพการศึกษาและอาชีพด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และสิ่งแวดล้อม รวมถึงการร่วมสร้างคุณประโยชน์ที่มีความหมายให้กับชุมชนท้องถิ่นโดยรอบอีกด้วย
