Event held at Phayao Province – May 16, 2025
Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Phongsabangpo, President of the University of Phayao, presided over the “Kick-off Ceremony for the Sumritsuk Center at the University of Phayao,” held at the Sumritsuk Center in Mae Sai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phayao Province. The event marked the official opening of the center, which is designed to serve as a model for developing community-based elderly care systems and enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens.
Mr. Sakorn Nata, President of the Mae Sai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, warmly welcomed participants to the event.
The initiative is a collaborative effort among several health science faculties, including:
· School of Allied Health Sciences
· School of Public Health
· School of Medicine
· School of Dentistry
· School of Medical Sciences
· School of Nursing
The event was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Puttipong Poncumhak, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences. Activities included laboratory tests, physical fitness assessments, dementia screening, osteoporosis screening, and general health check-ups — all aimed at preparing the community for an aging society.
A total of 120 elderly individuals participated in the project.
The School of Allied Health Sciences places strong emphasis on delivering academic services to the community through knowledge and innovation, with the goal of providing modern healthcare and public health services (Community Health Care). This initiative supports the well-being and social quality of life of local elderly populations.
