On Wednesday, May 21, 2025, the School of Allied Health Sciences, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Puttipong Poncumhak, Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences, along with Dr. Patchareeya Amput, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation, and Corporate Communication, and staff members, participated in the University of Phayao Area and Community Engagement Skills Training Program.
   
  This training program aims to develop personnel with an understanding of area-based development aligned with the framework of sustainable development and the creative economy. The program has set a key performance indicator: at least 20% of academic staff should develop these area-based engagement skills.
   
  Additionally, the program includes grants for area-based initiatives ("Work from Area") under the framework of sustainable development, supported by the Reinventing University Project, which aims to promote excellence in higher education and develop high-level human resources. This initiative is part of the University of Phayao’s 2025 fiscal year budget.
   
  The School of Allied Health Sciences received a grant for the project titled:
 “Effects of Modified Walking Exercise on Heart Rate Variability and Cardiopulmonary Fitness in Older Adults with Type 2 Diabetes: A Randomized Controlled Trial”,
 led by Dr. Chonticha Kaewjoho, a lecturer in the Bachelor of Physical Therapy program at the School of Allied Health Sciences.
  The project will be conducted in Champawai Subdistrict, covering 13 villages:

- Ban      San Don Ngam (Village 4)
- Ban      Lai Hong (Village 5)
- Ban      Rong Khem (Village 6)

- Ban      Rong Khui (Village 10)
- Ban      Champawai Thung (Village 11)

- Ban      Mai Rim Ping (Village 13)
This participation demonstrates the School of Allied Health Sciences’ commitment to academic excellence and sustainable community engagement, in line with the University of Phayao’s mission to serve as an academic hub actively contributing to society.
