The event was held alongside the “National Science and Technology Fair 2025 (NST Fair 2025)” at the Main Stage, Hall 2, G Floor, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

The University of Phayao showcased exceptional research and innovation projects, such as the Mae Ing Shibori Project: The Art and Craft of Natural Dyed Fabrics and the Research and Development of Northern Local Cotton (Phai Luang). These initiatives have a twofold purpose: to preserve local wisdom and to utilize community-based knowledge in order to promote sustainability in the environment, culture, and economy. By collaborating with local communities, researchers have been able to produce high-quality products that contribute to Thailand's social and economic development in a sustainable manner.

The opening ceremony was led by Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. In attendance were Professor Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Permanent Secretary of MHESI; Mr. Wichian Suksroi, Secretary to the Minister; Dr. Angela Macdonald, Ambassador of Australia to Thailand; Ms. Thea Martine Ottmann, Chargé d’Affaires of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Thailand; representatives from the embassies of China, Japan, Denmark, and France; and senior executives from MHESI.

The event also included the presentation of the Prime Minister's Science Award 2025 to exceptional secondary school students, acknowledging their outstanding scientific accomplishments.

The MHESI Fair 2025 and NST Fair 2025 are being held from August 9–17, 2025 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The MHESI Fair 2025 exhibits located in Halls 1–4 (G Floor) and NST Fair 2025 exhibits in Halls 5–6 (LG Floor).
