The Bachelor of Engineering Program in Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Phayao, under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Dr. Sutham Arun, organized a hands-on training program entitled “Workshop on PLC and SCADA Applications for Mechanical Engineering Students, Academic Year 2025” The workshop was held on 13–14 September 2025 at the Mechatronics Laboratory, School of Engineering, University of Phayao.

The training aimed to strengthen students’ skills and deepen their understanding of automation control technologies, which are at the core of modern industries, thereby preparing them to seamlessly transition into the professional workforce. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) are pivotal technologies driving today’s manufacturing and automation sectors.

Designed specifically for over 80 mechanical engineering students, the workshop provided both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, enabling participants to enhance their competencies in designing, controlling, and maintaining automated systems. These skills are increasingly vital and highly sought after in the labor market of the Industry 4.0 era.

Moreover, this initiative aligns with the strategic plan of the School of Engineering to develop a future-ready workforce equipped with advanced competencies. It also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. This reflects the University of Phayao’s strong commitment to producing high-quality graduates who will play a key role in advancing national development.
