School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, Wins Gold Award at “Learning Space for SDGs 2025”
On September 18, 2025, the Research Administration Division of the University of Phayao organized the Pitching Contest for Learning Space for SDGs 2025, now in its fifth consecutive year, under the theme “Learning Space for SDGs.” The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Samur Thanoi, Vice President for Research and Innovation.
This year, 18 learning spaces from 13 organizations participated in the contest, with evaluation based on outstanding achievements and the ability to create tangible positive impacts on communities.
The School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, presented the project “Stories from the Community: Teacher Development for Enhancing Reading, Writing, and Creativity Skills to Drive Phayao’s Soft Power.” The project, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Komkrit Tachom, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, School of Liberal Arts, was conducted in collaboration with four schools and an online learning platform, UP-School (Google Sites). The initiative focused on four key areas:
1. Developing teachers as innovators in learning media within Phayao Province
2. Enhancing Thai and English language skills among local students
3. Creating a curriculum for producing learning media based on folktales
4. Assessing and evaluating student learning outcomes against Thai and English language standards (CEFR Levels A1–A2)
Winning the Gold Award reflects the strong commitment of the School of Liberal Arts and Asst. Prof. Dr. Komkrit Tachom to advancing community-based learning spaces, while promoting Phayao’s Soft Power towards international recognition.
