The Environmental Business Development Unit (EBD), University of Phayao, has been officially accredited by the Department of Climate Change and Environment and registered as an authorized G-GREEN assessment and certification body as of December 12, 2025. This milestone represents a significant step forward in promoting environmentally friendly production, services, and management practices.

This accreditation will support initiatives in Green Production, the promotion and upgrading of eco-friendly hotels to international standards, as well as other activities under the program to promote environmentally friendly production, services, and management for participating establishments.

The Environmental Business Development Unit (EBD) operates under the administration of Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukthai Pongpattanasiri, Director of the Renewable Energy and Environmental Research Center, School of Energy and Environment, University of Phayao, with Dr. Wimonrat Sitisara serving as the unit’s expert. This achievement provides an important opportunity to expand the service scope of the School of Energy and Environment as a revenue-generating unit for the University, while concurrently advancing its missions in graduate production, research, and sustainable academic services.
