School of Liberal Arts Joins "Meeting of the Mind 2026"
to Celebrate the 16th Anniversary of the University of Phayao
The administrators, faculty members, and support staff of the School of Liberal Arts recently participated in the "Meeting of the Mind 2026" event, organized by the University of Phayao to commemorate its 16th anniversary. The event was held at Room UB003, 99th Year Phra Upali Kunupamachan Building.
A core objective of the gathering was to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother for her peerless contributions to the Thai textile industry. Her Majesty has played a pivotal role in the conservation, restoration, and elevation of Thai fabrics to the global stage. These efforts include the revitalization of folk textiles, the establishment of the Support Foundation, and the development of quality standards and patterns for Thai cloth. Her Majesty’s dedication was further evidenced during her international visits, where she consistently wore Thai silk, successfully introducing the beauty of national textiles to the international community.
The "Meeting of the Mind 2026" was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao. The President delivered a keynote speech outlining the university's administrative direction and policies, while also extending New Year's greetings to the university community.
The event served as a significant occasion to boost morale and foster organizational unity in a warm and collegial atmosphere. Various schools and departments across the university organized vibrant food stalls and participated in numerous activities. Highlights included:
Thai Costume Competition: Showcasing the elegance of traditional attire.
Special Performances: Featuring the university’s executive management team.
Musical Tributes: Recitals of Royal Compositions performed by the Western Music Program, School of Architecture and Fine Arts.
