The School of Liberal Arts Welcomed Representatives from the French Embassy
for the Cultural and Language Cooperation Enhancement Project.
On Wednesday, 28 January 2026, the University of Phayao, led by Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, together with the university’s executive team, warmly welcomed representatives from the Embassy of France in Thailand. The delegation included Dr. Ludovic Andres, Assistant Attaché for Science and Higher Education Cooperation; Madame Muriel Schmitt, Assistant Attaché for French Language Cooperation; Monsieur David Petitjean, Director of the Alliance Française Chiang Mai; and Ms. Sujira Panyawattana, Campus France agency.
On this occasion, the executive team of the School of Liberal Arts joined the reception and participated in the French Cultural and Language Promotion Project: French Open House, organized by the French Program. The project was led by Dr. Jarukan Nguyen Jitwongnan, Chair of the Bachelor of Arts Program in French, together with academic staff.
The event was attended by faculty members from higher education institutions, secondary school students, teachers, and undergraduate students of French from various schools and educational institutions, with a total of 100 participants.
The project aimed to provide opportunities for students with and without prior knowledge of French to demonstrate their language potential, learn about French culture, and gain insight into French language education at the tertiary level. Activities included language competitions and creative, interactive language-based activities designed to enhance learning experiences and cultural understanding.
The School of Liberal Arts hopes that all participants benefited from and were inspired by this event, and that they will be able to further apply the knowledge and experiences gained to their future studies and personal development.
