On 26 September 2026, School of Engineering, University of Phayao, organised a Pre-Internship and Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) Orientation at CE07208, General Education Building, University of Phayao. The activity was designed to prepare fourth-year students for their forthcoming internships and cooperative education placements in professional workplaces, while also equipping them for a smooth transition into employment after graduation.

Assistant Professor Dr. Wassana Naku, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, School of Engineering, presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a lecture entitled “Preparing for the World of Work” The session provided students with essential knowledge and practical guidance on transitioning from the university learning environment to professional practice. Particular emphasis was placed on developing professional communication skills, effective teamwork, workplace adaptability, and the ability to maximise learning opportunities through authentic professional experiences.

The session also provided detailed information on the documentation, procedures, and guidelines associated with internships and cooperative education. Students were briefed on the required processes, document preparation, and essential regulations prior to commencing their placements. Such preparation is crucial for minimising procedural errors, enhancing students’ confidence, and ensuring that they are able to conduct themselves appropriately and professionally throughout their work-integrated learning experience.

This activity reflects the School of Engineering University of Phayao’s commitment to developing students with future-ready competencies and skills, while integrating engineering knowledge with authentic workplace experience.
