The School of Nursing at the University of Phayao (UP), represented by four faculty members and ten third-year nursing students, organized and participated in the “UP Nurses: Toward Global Citizenship” project from September 17 to 24, 2026, at Chang Gung University of Science and Technology (CGUST) in Taiwan. The program was designed to provide participants with comprehensive international learning experiences in nursing education, healthcare services, technological advancements, and cross-cultural communication.

During the program, participants visited the Shulin District Health Center to study primary healthcare systems and the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to observe tertiary care. A major highlight of the trip was experiencing modern nursing technologies, including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and robotics utilized for patient care and rehabilitation. Additionally, the students engaged in simulation-based learning and classes focused on health promotion and nursing documentation.

Furthermore, the program fostered academic exchange between UP and CGUST. The UP delegates presented on student development, Thailand's healthcare services, and the national nursing curriculum. This successful initiative not only strengthened the professional and international competencies of the students but also established a robust academic network between the two institutions, paving the way for future collaborations, including student and staff exchanges and joint academic activities.
