Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sitthisak Pinmongkhonkul, Dean of the School of Science, University of Phayao, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyachon Ketsuwan, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, attended a special forum and visited the new exhibition zone "Archaeoastronomy" upon invitation of the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (Public Organization) (NARIT), on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Planetarium, Princess Sirindhorn AstroPark, Chiang Mai Province.

The forum, held under the theme "Tracing Time Through the Stars," aimed to decode the wisdom of ancient peoples from reading the sky to applying that knowledge in city planning, temple design, and the construction of historical sites. The event also explored new opportunities to elevate this cultural heritage as a distinctive destination for Thai tourism, while promoting public awareness of astronomy, history, and cultural heritage.

In addition to participating in the forum, the delegation from the School of Science also visited the new exhibition zone, "Archaeoastronomy," which presents a compelling body of knowledge connecting astronomical science with Thailand's rich cultural heritage.

This participation reflects the continued commitment of the School of Science, University of Phayao, to building academic partnerships with leading astronomical and scientific institutions in Thailand. Such collaboration paves the way for knowledge exchange and future opportunities in research and educational development in the field of astronomy.
