On October 14, 2026 (B.E. 2569), Mr. Sumetee Khamlue, Mayor of Chiang Muan Subdistrict Municipality, and his delegation met with the working group of the Legal Clinic, School of Law, University of Phayao. The meeting was held to plan the implementation of the "Project to Develop a Collaborative System for Legal Assistance and Well-Being Policy." The project aims to solve problems and sustainably improve the quality of life of people in Chiang Muan Subdistrict.
The key goal of the meeting was to integrate legal knowledge with public policy development in order to create a system of support and protection for residents in three main areas:
Housing security: Providing legal assistance and counseling to protect community members' rights to housing and agricultural land.
Well-being of the elderly: Protecting their rights and access to appropriate social and health services, in order to support an aging society with quality.
Youth development and drug prevention campaigns: Creating mechanisms to protect children and youth, and carrying out proactive activities to raise awareness and understanding. These activities will build legal and well-being resilience so that young people in Chiang Muan Subdistrict stay away from drugs, and will also promote the constructive use of free time in the community.
Collaboration with the Legal Clinic, School of Law, represents a tangible way of applying legal principles to community well-being work. Chiang Muan Subdistrict Municipality hopes the project will serve as an important foundation for caring for residents, especially vulnerable groups, including the elderly and young people, who should be able to grow up safely and free from drugs. The goal is for everyone to enjoy equal rights and protection, leading to sustainable development in the future.
The meeting marks the planning of proactive activities to visit communities and provide legal knowledge and advice, as well as to develop well-being policy proposals that will bring the greatest benefit to the people of Chiang Muan Subdistrict going forward.
