The School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, continues to advance research toward commercial utilization and create opportunities for international market development. As part of this effort, Dr. Piyapong Supanyo, Associate Dean for Research Innovation and Network Development, presented research-based products, including Low-Carbon Phayao Hom Mali 105 Rice and Low-Carbon Specialty Coffee, at the Thailand–China Culture Dialogue.

The products were developed through the work of a research team led by Assistant Professor Dr. Sukthai Phongphatthanasi, Principal Investigator, under research projects supported by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and the Program Management Unit on Area-Based Development (PMU-A). The projects aim to apply knowledge, technology, and research-driven innovation to develop local products, enhance their economic value, and reduce environmental impacts in line with the concepts of low-carbon development and sustainable development.

The presentation attracted interest from researchers, entrepreneurs, and networks from the People’s Republic of China, providing opportunities for information exchange on the products, market development approaches, and potential avenues for further business collaboration. These exchanges are intended to support the expansion of research-based products from the University and local communities into the Chinese and international markets.

The activity reflects BCA’s role in connecting researchers, communities, entrepreneurs, and international markets, while advancing the concept of Research to Commercialization by transforming knowledge and research outputs into economic value, creating market opportunities, and generating sustainable income for local farmers and communities.

At the same time, BCA is committed to expanding collaboration networks with businesses and partners in China to develop trade channels and product development opportunities, while enhancing Phayao Hom Mali 105 Rice and Low-Carbon Specialty Coffee as products with the potential to compete in and gain recognition in international markets.
