On 17 September 2026, Dr. Ruthaipat Pimonsri, Lecturer in the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Tourism and Hotel Management, School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, participated in a meeting to provide a briefing and present research findings on the “Chaeson International Senior Wellness Tourism Model.”
The research initiative was led by Acting Sub Lieutenant Dr. Udom Suwannapim, Research Program Director, and Dr. Witya Sangkharat, Associate Dean for Research, Innovation and Information Technology, Faculty of Health Science Technology, Chulabhorn Royal Academy, together with executives and researchers from partner networks. The research findings were presented to the Committee on Children, Youth, Women, Older Persons, Persons with Disabilities, Ethnic Groups and LGBTQ+ People of the House of Representatives at the Parliament Building in Bangkok.
The presentation represented an interdisciplinary collaboration under SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, driven by cooperation among academic networks, government agencies, and the private sector. The partnership seeks to advance research toward SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, with presentations covering research findings, wellness tourism innovations, and structural recommendations for the legislative branch.
The recommendations are intended to support consideration of public policies at the national level, particularly policies aimed at sustainably enhancing the quality of life and well-being of older persons. The initiative also seeks to lay the foundation for the development of Thailand’s wellness economy, strengthening the country’s readiness to accommodate the growing international market for senior wellness tourism.
The collaboration reflects the role of academic and research partnerships in translating interdisciplinary knowledge and research into policy-oriented recommendations, while supporting sustainable development and enhancing Thailand’s potential as an international destination for senior wellness tourism.
