On 17 September 2026, the School of Engineering University of Phayao in collaboration with PHAYAO OFFICE FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT, organized a Medal Presentation Ceremony for students of the School of Engineering who participated in the 31st National Skills Competition at the Regional Level for the Northern Provincial Cluster. The ceremony was held in the Bawornrattanaprasit Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Office of the President Building, University of Phayao.
On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering University of Phayao, delivered a welcoming address to university executives, representatives of the Phayao Skill Development Office, faculty members, and students. He also introduced the representatives from the Phayao Skill Development Office. Subsequently, Mr. Thawat Sathiraphatthachai, Director of PHAYAO OFFICE FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT, provided an overview of the background and development of the National Skills Competition, including its competition criteria, procedures, and the competition results achieved by the School of Engineering students.
Following the opening session, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, presided over the medal presentation ceremony. He presented a medal to Mr. Chananyu Suwankham, a second-year student in the Industrial Engineering programme, School of Engineering, University of Phayao, in recognition of his outstanding performance in the competition. The student received the BEST OF PROVINCE award for achieving the highest overall score among competitors from Phayao Province, with a total of 727 points, and was also awarded a Bronze Medal in the CNC Machine (Milling) category.
On this occasion, the President of the University of Phayao extended his congratulations to the award recipient and offered guidance to both the medal recipient and the students who participated in the competition. He emphasised the importance of applying the knowledge, practical skills, and experience gained through the competition to academic studies, personal development, and future professional practice. He further underscored the need to continuously develop students’ professional competencies in alignment with the evolving demands of the industrial sector.
The ceremony reflects the School of Engineering’s commitment to strengthening students’ professional competencies through authentic, hands-on experiences, while fostering collaborative networks with organisations involved in workforce and skills development. Such collaboration contributes to enhancing the capabilities of engineering personnel by equipping them with disciplinary knowledge, practical skills, and the professional readiness required to perform effectively in the industrial sector.
