The University of Phayao (UP), was represented by Assistant Professor Santiwat Pithakpol, Ph.D., Director of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Institute, at the RAISE Summit Week 2025 (Regional Agri-Innovation and Startup Ecosystem Summit) held from October 13-15, 2025, in Tagaytay City, Cavite, Philippines, UP was invited by Benguet State University, a long-term partner of the university.
Organized by the Philippines’ Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and 16 higher education regional networks, the summit gathered over 500 participants from government agencies, universities, private sectors, and international partners to promote collaboration in AgriTech and AquaTech innovation ecosystems.

Dr. Santiwat was invited to participate as a panelist in the session titled “Agriculture and Food Innovation in Thailand Business Incubation” During this session, he presented on the topic of “Innovative Agri-Aqua Business Incubation for Sustainable Local Development: The University of Phayao Model.” His presentation focused on UP’s efforts in promoting low-carbon aquaculture, developing healthy food innovations, and fostering social entrepreneurship through collaboration with the government, private sector, and local communities in Northern Thailand.

During the networking session, representatives from UP also discussed potential collaborations with DOST Philippines and partner universities. These collaborations would involve developing joint Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation programs, exchanging researchers and young entrepreneurs, and expanding innovation markets between Thailand and the Philippines.
Participation in the RAISE Summit Week 2025 marks another milestone for the University of Phayao as a leading regional innovation university committed to fostering international partnerships and advancing sustainable local development, in line with its vision —
“Wisdom and Community Innovation for Sustainable Globalization.”
