Chinese Department Organizes Workshop on “Strategies for Chinese Interpreting in Professional Contexts” to Enhance Students’ Global Work Skills
The Chinese Department, School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao, organized a skills-development workshop titled “Strategies for Chinese Interpreting in Professional Contexts” aimed at strengthening students’ abilities in professional interpretation and communication, as well as preparing them for work in an international environment.
The workshop was honored to have Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanokporn Numtong, an expert in Chinese interpreting and language pedagogy from the Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University, as the keynote speaker. The event was held on 22 November 2025 at the School of Liberal Arts, University of Phayao. The program featured in-depth lectures and hands-on practice on interpreting strategies, analysis of real-world situations, and techniques for effective cross-language communication. Students also developed essential skills such as critical thinking, active listening, and intercultural communication.
The workshop received an enthusiastic response from students and highlighted the Chinese Program’s commitment to enhancing students’ professional competencies in line with the demands of today’s global workforce.
