The School of Engineering, University of Phayao, through the Engineering Music Club in collaboration with the Engineering Photo Up group and the Engineering Student Union, organized a large-scale music festival under the “Gear Fest 3 Project” for the third consecutive year. The event was held on 16 January 2026 at the School’s activity plaza. The festival was overseen by Assistant Professor Dr. Nuttanon Pongpanit, Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Industrial Partnership Development, together with Dr. Anujit Phumiphan, Assistant Dean of the School of Engineering. The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering.

The event brought together music bands comprising engineering students from Years 1 to 4, who showcased their musical talents in a vibrant atmosphere enriched with professional lighting, sound systems, stage effects, food stalls, and various creative elements. The festival provided an open and inclusive platform for members of the music club to express their creativity, make constructive use of their leisure time, and develop practical skills through hands-on experience.

           Beyond entertainment, Gear Fest 3 aimed to enhance students’ competencies in organizing and managing activities, strengthen the effectiveness of co-curricular programs within the School of Engineering, and foster student identity in terms of aesthetic appreciation, well-being, and personal development. The project aligns with Strategic Issue 1: preparing and empowering individuals with future-oriented competencies and skills, with the ultimate goal of promoting students’ quality of life, happiness, and pride in being engineering students at the University of Phayao.
