The School of Engineering, University of Phayao, extends its sincere congratulations to Ms. Chanakarn Pleumjit, a fourth-year student enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Industrial Engineering, on receiving the Academic Excellence Medal for the 2026 academic year and participating in the 2026 Academic Excellence Medal Awardees Training Camp. The program was organized by the Executive Committee of the Engineering Education and Research Fund under the Royal Patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Thailand, the Engineering Institute of Thailand under Royal Patronage (EIT), and was held from 4–6 September 2026 at the 80th Birthday Anniversary Commemorative Strategic Studies Center of the Royal Thai Armed Forces (Bangsaen–Ang Sila).

The program was established to promote and support engineering students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, strong commitment to their studies, and the potential to become an integral part of the engineering profession in the future. Each year, the Executive Committee of the Fund confers Academic Excellence Medals as a distinguished recognition and source of encouragement for students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and exemplary dedication to their education.

Under the selection criteria, recipients of the Academic Excellence Medal must rank first within their respective Faculty or School of Engineering and attain a cumulative grade point average (GPAX) of at least 3.60. The selection encompasses eligible students from both public and private higher education institutions nationwide. The award therefore represents a significant recognition of academic excellence, perseverance, responsibility, and sustained commitment to engineering education.

In addition, the award carries a distinguished royal significance, as the royal monogram “M.W.K.” is bestowed by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Thailand and incorporated into the Academic Excellence Medal. This royal distinction constitutes a highly valued honor and a lasting source of pride for the recipients, as well as for the higher education institutions to which they belong.

The conferment of the Academic Excellence Medal upon Ms. Chanakarn Pleumjit, represents another significant achievement that demonstrates the academic potential and capabilities of students at the University of Phayao’s School of Engineering. It further reflects her dedication, discipline, and responsibility toward her studies. Her achievement serves as an inspiration for future generations of students to continuously develop their knowledge, competencies, and professional attributes in pursuit of becoming highly qualified, ethical, and socially responsible engineering professionals.
