On August 30, 2026, the School of Education, University of Phayao, organized the “China–Thailand: Hearts Connected” activity under the theme “Exchanging Cultures, Learning Together, and Building Dreams for the Future.” The activity was held in Room C203, Phu Kam Yao (PKY) Classroom Building, School of Education, University of Phayao. The event was presided over by Ms. Methika Lertpathama, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning Promotion, who delivered the opening remarks. The activity was attended by faculty members, staff, first- to fourth-year Chinese Language Education student teachers, and other interested participants. The School of Education was honored to welcome Miss Suyang (苏杨), a native Chinese language instructor, as a guest speaker for a lecture and discussion on “Culture, Lifestyle, and the Atmosphere of Sichuan.” The session provided participants with opportunities to explore similarities and differences between Thai and Chinese cultures, while also receiving guidance on pursuing further education in China, including scholarship applications, preparation of essential documents, and practical tips for applying for scholarships. The session was designed to provide useful guidance for students interested in pursuing higher education opportunities in China.

The activity aimed to deepen participants’ knowledge and understanding of Thai and Chinese cultures, enhance practical Chinese language skills through direct interaction with a native speaker, inspire students, foster friendship networks, and prepare them to become professional Chinese language teachers. As part of the activity, participants engaged in hands-on cultural learning and practiced presenting aspects of Thai wisdom and culture in Chinese through three Thai cultural booths: Creative Bai Si Coin-Making, Thai Desserts: Flavors of Culture, and Traditional Flower Garland and Basketry Crafts. Participants also joined the Thai Traditional Ramwong Dance to strengthen Thai–Chinese friendships. The activity concluded with a 3-2-1 Reflection, allowing participants to reflect on and share their learning experiences, exchange perspectives, create memorable experiences, and strengthen positive relationships in a sustainable manner. The activity reflects the School of Education’s commitment to promoting intercultural learning, international experiences, and the development of future Chinese language teachers with both linguistic competence and cultural understanding. It is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
