On September 15, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, led university executives and staff in a UP CSV field visit to the Inthri Asa Border Patrol Police Learning Center (Ban Huai Pum), Phayao Province. The initiative supports educational opportunities and quality of life while strengthening long-term collaboration with the local community.
The UP CSV project has been carried out continuously for eight years, serving as an important mechanism for the University of Phayao to work closely with local communities. The project brings together the university’s knowledge, expertise, personnel, and resources to respond to real needs in local areas. Beyond providing short-term assistance, UP CSV focuses on building long-term partnerships and creating practical benefits in areas such as education, health, environmental management, skills development, and quality of life. This reflects the University of Phayao’s commitment to its mission as a university that contributes to the sustainable development of communities and society.
During this visit, several university units joined forces to support the learning center. The School of Liberal Arts provided English learning materials and educational supplies. The Division of Buildings and Facilities, together with the Provincial Electricity Authority Phayao and the School of Engineering, inspected and maintained the solar power system, improved sanitary facilities, and provided tents, folding tables, and plastic chairs. The Center for Environment and Sustainable Management provided creative learning materials made from recycled materials, while the Division of Student Affairs, through the University of Phayao Volunteer Operations Center, provided school supplies and stationery. The Central Administration Division also provided lunch for the students.
In addition, the School of Architecture and Fine Arts, School of Nursing, and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences joined the field visit to assess local needs, exchange information, and plan the next phase of UP CSV activities. The collaboration aims to develop education, health, the environment, and quality of life in a more systematic and sustainable way, while enabling local communities to make practical use of the knowledge and resources provided. Through eight years of UP CSV implementation, the University of Phayao continues to strengthen its role as a “University for Community Development,” working with communities to create meaningful and sustainable change.
