On September 23, 2026, Associate Professor Supakorn  Pongbangpho, Ph.D.President, University of Phayao, received the Outstanding Research Organization 2026 award from Professor Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, at the Thailand Talent Summit 2026 held at PEACH International Convention Center, Chonburi. The University of Phayao was one of 11 organizations selected for the award under the theme “Fostering Thailand Future; Advancing Innovation and National Impact.”

The Thailand Talent Summit 2026 was organized by the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), and research and innovation partners. The event aims to strengthen science, research and innovation talent, promote knowledge exchange and build collaboration networks to advance research and innovation for practical use and national impact. The Outstanding Research Organization 2026 award recognizes organizations with effective research and innovation management, talent development, collaboration networks, and strong mechanisms for bringing research outcomes into practical use.

The award reflects the University of Phayao’s commitment to advancing research and innovation, strengthening its research ecosystem, and transforming knowledge and local potential into national and international impact.
