On Monday, October 27, 2025, the School of Science, University of Phayao, organized a capacity-building program entitled “Promotion and Development of Researchers toward Patent and Petty Patent Registration” at the Science Building Conference Room 1, University of Phayao.

This initiative represents a key strategic action under the School’s roadmap to advance academic excellence and foster innovation. The workshop aimed to equip lecturers and researchers with essential knowledge and practical skills to safeguard their intellectual property and transform research outcomes into commercially viable innovations.

The event was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Sitthisak Pinmongkhonkul, Dean of the School of Science, who presided over the opening ceremony. The session featured Ms. Kanpitcha Panya, Head of the Office of the Institute of Innovation and Technology Transfer, as the keynote speaker. Her lectures covered pivotal topics such as “The Distinction between patents and petty patents: Which is appropriate for our research?”, “Patent search procedures to avoid duplication,” and “The steps for University of Phayao researchers to apply for patents.” 

Through this training, the School of Science reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening intellectual property capabilities among its academic community, thereby enhancing the potential of research outputs to evolve into value-added innovations with tangible societal and commercial impact.
