On 20–21 May 2026, the Student Development and Quality Enhancement Unit of the School of Business and Communication Arts, University of Phayao, organized the “BCA Leadership Launchpad: Empowering Student Leaders for Transformation in the Digital Era” at the University of Phayao, Chiang Rai Campus, Chiang Rai Province. The project was designed to enhance students’ leadership competencies, strengthen collaborative skills, and foster leadership attributes that are responsive to the rapidly changing social and technological contexts of the twenty-first century. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Kamolpong Rattanasanguanwong, Associate Dean for Student Experience and Quality Development, who highlighted the importance of student leadership in promoting organizational effectiveness and contributing to constructive social development.

The project was honored by the participation of Mr. Nattapon Oonphak, Assistant Director for Research, Innovation, and Excellence at Lanna Polytechnic Chiangmai Technological College, and Ms. Pikul Thammasiri, Manager of Blue Space B.S.20 Limited Partnership, who served as guest speakers. Through the workshops “Story of Me” and “Leader Inside Me,” the speakers shared their professional knowledge and practical experiences in leadership development. The sessions emphasized self-awareness, personal potential development, effective communication, creative decision-making, and collaborative engagement within diverse social environments.

Throughout the program, members of the School of Business and Communication Arts Student Council for the 2026 academic year participated in a range of participatory learning activities, including group discussions, knowledge exchange sessions, team-based exercises, and leadership simulations. These activities provided opportunities for participants to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and applied leadership skills, which are widely recognized as essential competencies for leadership development in higher education.

The project outcomes indicated enhanced student competencies in several areas, including a greater understanding of leadership roles and responsibilities, improved communication and coordination skills, strengthened team management capabilities, and an increased awareness of social responsibility and civic engagement. These competencies constitute important foundations for effective professional practice and lifelong learning, while supporting the development of graduates in accordance with the University of Phayao’s expected learning outcomes.

Furthermore, the project reflects the School of Business and Communication Arts’ commitment to holistic student development through the integration of leadership enhancement and life-skills development into co-curricular learning experiences. The initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting inclusive and quality learning opportunities and supporting the development of competencies required for future employment and lifelong learning. It also contributes to SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions by encouraging participation, accountability, transparency, and respect for diversity. Through these efforts, the project supports the cultivation of responsible and ethical student leaders who are equipped to contribute positively to sustainable social development.
