The Bachelor of Engineering Program in Mechanical Engineering School of Engineering University of Phayao, has continued to promote international learning opportunities and broaden students’ global perspectives for the second consecutive time through their participation in the ASHRAE Region 13 CRC 2026, held at Newport World Resorts in Manila, Republic of the Philippines, on 14–15 August 2026.

This participation followed the students’ first experience at the conference, which was previously held in Suwon, Republic of Korea. The international engagement has provided both School members and students with valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge and perspectives with members from various ASHRAE Chapters across the region. In addition to participating in academic seminars, the students had the opportunity to undertake technical site visits focusing on energy-efficient buildings and high-performance HVAC systems. These areas of knowledge are directly relevant to the field of mechanical engineering and can be effectively integrated into academic learning, research activities, and the development of students’ professional competencies and practical skills.

A total of four Mechanical Engineering students from the program participated in the conference:

·       Mr. Anan Saengsimma, second-year student

·       Mr. Ukrit Tason, third-year student

·       Ms. Sophitnapa Intha, fourth-year student

·       Ms. Monpavee Chomsiriwat, fourth-year student

The students were accompanied and supervised by Dr. Rachaneewan Angkurabut, a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Program. The delegation was also led by Associate Professor Dr. Nattapong Damrongwiriyanupap, Dean of the School of Engineering, and Assistant Professor Dr. Apichat Buakla, Associate Dean for Administration and Special Affairs.

Participation in the ASHRAE Region 13 CRC 2026 represents another significant opportunity for Mechanical Engineering students to enhance their academic knowledge, communication skills, and capacity for knowledge exchange within an international context. The experience also provided exposure to emerging technologies in energy-efficient building design and modern high-performance HVAC systems, enabling students to connect theoretical knowledge with professional practice.

Such international engagement contributes to the development of well-rounded engineering graduates equipped with the academic knowledge, intercultural communication skills, and professional competencies necessary to respond effectively to technological advancements and the evolving demands of the industrial sector and engineering profession in the future.
